Depending on the media type, barcode labels are either stickers that are adhered to the front of the tape cartridge or cutouts that you slide into an indentation on the front of the cartridge. Adhesive labels should be fixed centrally within the cartridge recess provided. When applying adhesive labels, rubber gloves should be worn to prevent moisture from the skin contaminating the adhesive. Optimum temperature over 10 degrees C. Some examples are shown below.

WARNING

Do not use wraparound labels on DLT cartridges.
Most labels use a removable adhesive and have a tendency to curl or tear after multiple uses. This can jam the mechanical movement of the drives and the media picker. Place labels only in the space provided on the cartridge.
